Project Description

We all encounter struggles throughout our lives

Whether your child is a terrible two, a tween, a special needs kid or a teenager we can help. Research indicates between 30-50% of adults experience deep emotional difficulty at some point in their life. Everyone needs someone to talk to, and many benefit from the wise, caring support of a trained professional. Things can come up in young lives that may cause some emotional or behavioral issues. No one knows your child like your own. If you feel that their behavior issues or emotional issues are elevating to the point of affecting their well-being or others noticing, then the conversation of help should be discussed. Significant life events listed below are few of the many reasons to cause adolescences problems with behavior, mood swings, and even appetite.

  • Loss of family, friend or pet

  • Moving houses
  • Divorce in the family

  • Abuse
  • Trauma

Why wait?

The sooner the intervention is, the better. The earlier a child gets treatment the easier it is to help them. You can expect for a first session to for the parent of the child to come in for a one-on-one sit down with the therapist and give an in depth explanation about what has been occurring in their child’s life. This also assists for any child who is shy and alleviate nerves for their first experience with counseling. This time will also be taken to discuss a treatment plan best suited for your child’s needs. Following sessions, we will use different interventions to work on established goals that we’ve set through the designed treatment plan. Different interventions we use throughout include:

  • Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
  • Play therapy
  • Psychodynamic therapy -“The talking cure”
  • Behavioral therapy
